Last week I heard of a relatively new eatery in town, so naturally I had to try it. Located in DHA Lahore, City Café & Grill is a contemporary restaurant that offers a range of different cuisines including, Thai and Chinese.

For starters we opted for their most famous entrée the “City Café Special Prawns” and “Fried Wontons”. After trying the prawns I realized why they were famous all over town. The king-sized prawns were absolutely delightful, glazed in City Café’s “secret sauce” and coated with crispy potato shavings; City Café’s prawns are a must try. Moreover, the wontons were also equally appetizing, fried to perfection; the wontons from City Café make for a perfect snack for chilly winter evenings. After being so pleased with the starters, we chose two chicken entrees for the main course the Orange Chicken and Chicken Chili Dry. The orange chicken was something that I was looking forward to the most, as I had never tried it before. And I must say that I regret not trying it earlier It was the perfect blend of sweet and sour flavors. Marinated chicken strips glazed with piping hot orange sauce, the orange chicken was absolutely wonderful. Coming to the chicken chili dry, I must say that it was very well cooked and was bursting with flavours.

After finishing the delicious main course, it was now time for some sweet stuff, as in desserts. For dessert we chose their Molten Lava Cake. And I have to admit that it was the best molten lava cake that I’ve ever tried. The cake was soft and moist with warm chocolate ganache oozing out of it. Served with vanilla bean ice- cream, the cake will definitely make you forget all your worries.

Overall, City Café & Grill is here to stay. They have all that it takes for an eatery to become successful. We are definitely going there again.
