THIS refers to the green line bus project in Karachi. This project may provide comfort to citizens but its construction work has become a nuisance.

The construction work is going at a snail’s pace. Because of this, there are constant traffic jams. I live in Surjani Town where I have seen several accidents because of the poor condition of the road owing to the ongoing construction.

There are large holes on the road. Owing to broken water pipelines these holes have gone under water. This has resulted in accidents, as trucks and trailers often fall in these hidden ditches. To add insult to injury, people have to suffer water shortage because of water leakages.

I am not against this project. But such projects should be for the benefit of the people rather than for their agony.

The authorities concerned should ensure that construction of this project is completed as soon as possible.
