THE Pakistan-United States relationship has reached critical proportions. America continues to accuse and attack repeatedly while Pakistan denies and defends. This cannot continue much longer; something has to give.

Our relations with Afghanistan cannot improve unless the Pak-US relationship is first addressed. We also need to focus on our deteriorating relations with our eastern neighbour, before an accident or tactical misadventure befalls us.

It makes eminent sense to proactively seek permanent solutions. Think out of the box; more of the same will not do.
