The Affect Music Has..
Music is a euphonious symphony and may hold completely different interpretations and relatable feelings for each individual listener. Everyone’s taste in music varies, and all genres of music have many ways of leaving an impact. Music can be relaxing, soothing, pumping, energizing, sullen, morose; the sheer amount of emotions felt for a particular piece by an artist is infinitely impossible to count. Each person finds music relevant on a different level and relates their own personal experience or a moment in time when they first heard it to each song they like. People can use music to express themselves, in ways it can’t be expressed through behavior or art.
You can usually tell how someone’s feeling by the type of music he or she is listening to at the time. It’s a tool used by many. Groups of people around the world can come together and gather at concerts, shows, and venues to show what their interests and likings are and you see how many people have similar likings as you. Innumerable marketed genres of music arereadily available for listening, such as rap, pop, rock, folk, desi, bollywood, fusion, country, indie, alternative, hardcore being some off the top of my head. Music sends out positive or negative messages that may inadvertently have big impacts on how people react or compose a mood bearing on what they’re frequently listening to. Rap and Rock music are two very important types of music in the world for teenagers. They both send out different messages and can be motivational for kids.
The lyrics sung or rapped by the artists can beapplicable to things going on in their own personal lives, and kids with similar types of problems and issues listen to them knowing there’s hope out there in the world. Music can also serve as a catalyst for new ideas, listening to new things or about experiences out there, kids learn different things going on in the world and they become more openminded because they’re exposed to different streams of music and experiences by the artists they like. Rap music is very popular amongst teens and tweens. It has a very powerfulinfluence on youth. The lyrics generally cover taboo topics and use foul language revolving around sex and drugs which are topics many parents don’t want their kids understanding or comprehending at an impressionable age. Many of the music videos made by rap artists in the world show these, building up on them as the fast-paced life styles of the rich and famous, gilded and blinged out, that parties, private jets, cars, mansions, girls, drugs, money, etc is the only way to live.
They sell such notions to impressionable youngsters who then adopt not only the artist’shigh-street fashion, but also language, demeanour, etc and may get involved in petty theft or major crimes trying to quickly aspire to be like their favourite artists. I can personally relate to the effects that music has on its listeners as it’s a big part of my life. The music I listen to makes my day go by better if I’m having a bad day or feeling low. It makes me want to get up and dance if it’s a catchy beat. It uplifts my spirits and often makes me wonder at times about the woes that some artists sing about, the harsh or morose realities of life or of the missed opportunities and chances and the roads not taken. What would life be without music, it’s a life I would not to care to know.
