Women education
The world’s population is about 7.5 billion plus of which women make up a little more than half. Yet women are considered as secondary gender in many regions. Domestic violence also is not a recent phenomenon and goes back into history.
Besides pro-women legislation, the basic strategy to protect vulnerable women is education, which should be made compulsory for females up to the master’s level. This will empower them to deal with any situation in their lives. It is unfortunate that in Pakistan many people still have a medieval mentality towards women. Again it is a sound education coupled with drastic changes in social mores that will bring positive change in how women are treated in the country.
