Naan Bun Paneer is a pleasant addition to the eateries of Lahore. The ambience of this restaurant is extremely peaceful and relaxing. The dim lighting and contemporary set up make dining there a comforting experience.
Coming to the food, although Naan Bun Paneer is a very traditional name for a restaurant, I was actually surprised by the wide variety of cuisine offered in the menu. It boasts many exciting cuisines like French, Italian, Continental, Asian and Pakistani.
For starters we ordered their Chili-Garlic Prawns and Spicy Honey Wings. The Chili-Garlic Prawns were toasted to perfection and were bursting with flavors of garlic and sweet chili; served with a creamy dip the prawns were an absolute delight. Nevertheless, the honey wings were no less. They were extremely well-cooked and were glazed with perhaps one of the best honey based sauces that I’ve ever tried.
For the main course, we settled for two very different entrees, the Kung Pao Chicken, and the Swiss Polo Chicken.
I have tried Kung Pao Chicken from many other eateries but this one completely blew me away with its mouthwatering Cajun based gravy and tender chicken pieces which were well seasoned with a pungent flavour of chili oil. Served with crispy roasted peanuts the Kung Pao Chicken will surely make your day. But, the real winner for me was the Swiss Polo Chicken, mainly because the chicken was perfectly coated with a crispy potato batter, making it absolutely irresistible. Topped with a rich blue cheese sauce and served with the creamiest spinach on the side, this entrée will be amongst the reasons that I would visit Naan Bun Paneer again.
Overall, our dining experience was extremely delightful. We were pleased with everything from the ambience, to the service, to the food. However, the only regret I have is of not getting my hands on any of the desserts they offered, thus making it an excuse for me to eat there again.
