Public transport in Gujranwala

Gujranwala, an industrial hub, lacks a proper public transport system. Unlike other cities, there is no proper bus service, and the local people are forced to opt for costly motorcycles and cars, and spend a large chunk of their income on auto-rickshaws that are mostly in a tattered state. Most rickshaw drivers on the roads are unlicensed, and are always in a hurry. This often results in accidents or traffic jams that last for several hours. A proper Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system must be introduced in the city.
