Education quality
PAKISTAN has a low literacy rate despite the efforts made by the government. Over the years the public school system has failed to provide education for all.
The failure of public schools has created space for private schools. These lack many things but the biggest of all is that they hire untrained teachers who don’t take their profession seriously. With due respect, these are mostly women who have not planned to teach as a career and are going to get “settled down” soon. For them, teaching at a private school requires no professional commitment.
Low salaries paid to teachers by private school managements are also partially to blame for this situation. Unfortunately, this leaves a negative effect on young students. The dearth of qualified teachers makes the learning process difficult and pushes students into a never-ending abyss.
