The demolition of the iconic Metropole Hotel has now begun, with labourers seen tearing the structure down. Civic bodies responsible for protecting heritage sites seem to be neglecting their duty, and do not care about the hotel being bulldozed. The government must intervene to halt the demolition of this historic structure.
